MOTHR is a story of motherhood in all its imperfect glory. 

My son whispers the same words to me every night as he falls asleep.

“Don’t close your eyes mummy. Watch the door.”

Each night I reassure him there is nothing to be afraid of as there are no monsters lurking outside. Yet each night he repeats his simple request – watch the door.

A parent spends around 14 hours a week putting their children to sleep. Those hours are far from empty.

I often find myself wrestling with my own fears as my child looks to me to protect him from his. It is in these hours my mind swirls with the words I eventually put onto paper.

Of the thousands of thoughts, and countless words; these are the ones I wish to share.
